Aug 7, 2020

There are many food mistakes girls make on a date. A date, especially the first one, is already stressful, but we often make it even more stressful. You don’t want to charm your date with your beautiful smile and the piece of food on your front tooth. Moreover, the last thing you want to do on a date is to suffer from bloating.

While you shouldn’t overdo with your dress, makeup and hairstyle, you should not overdo with your meals as well. Here are 10 foods you should never eat on a date.

1 Spinach

Most girls are trying to keep their calorie intake under control, even on a first date. They opt for spinach smoothies, soups and salads without realizing that those healthy meals can ruin their pearly white teeth.

It’s delicious and healthy, but your date may not like its smell and those pieces of food stuck in your teeth.

3 Spicy foods

If you don’t love spicy meals, don’t order them. My friend ordered a spicy meal on her first date in order to impress her guy. She knew that he’s a huge fan of spicy foods, but she can’t stand the heat and she’s never eaten any spicy meal before. She spoiled her date and now she knows what to order on a first date.

4 Hamburger

Hamburgers are huge, literally. They are bigger than your mouth and it’s almost impossible to eat them politely. If your date wants to order hamburgers and you really want to eat it in front of your guy, don’t forget to use a knife and fork.

5 Fried Mozzarella sticks

I love fried Mozzarella sticks, but I know that it’s a big no-no on a date. Mozzarella sticks are messy and difficult to eat. Speaking with a mouthful of cheese is not the best way to attract a guy, don’t you think? If your date wants to order Mozzarella sticks, then you can eat them together, but don’t do it alone.

6 Milkshakes

Milkshakes and any dairy can wreck your digestive system and you can end up going to a ladies’ room the whole evening. Diary can also cause bloating and loud tummy gurgling. It’s worse than any pieces of food stuck in your teeth.

7 Spaghetti

Spaghetti may seem like a good meal to eat on a date, but think twice before ordering it. First of all, it can cause bloating and belly pain. Plus, spaghetti is a messy food so it will be hard to eat your meal gracefully. Opt for meals that are easier to eat.

8 Diet-friendly salads

As I mentioned before, guys don’t want to know about your diets and weight loss problems and goals. When you order a diet-friendly salad, you show your date that you are a dieter that don’t eat anything except salads and smoothies. It will be a big date disaster if you order a diet-friendly salad and a green smoothie.

9 Garlic

Many restaurants use garlic as a flavor enhancer so make sure you don’t order anything that has garlic in it. Garlic is a healthy food but it’s best to eat it at home. Avoid ordering popular sauces like marinara and alfredo because they may contain a great amount of garlic.

10 Soups

Ordering a soup on a date is not a smart decision. Unless you know how to eat politely, don’t opt for soups. A few years ago I was on a date with a guy who ordered a soup. I was surprised at his food choice because I didn’t know that people can eat soups on a date, but thought “why not?” When he began to eat, it was funny and disappointing. Those slurping sounds spoiled the whole evening.
