Kids love the zoo, and the zoos across Wisconsin cater to children with special exhibits and programs. Madison’s Henry Vilas Zoo is home to dozens of exotic animals, many of which can be found in the Discovery Center, a hands-on area with games designed for kids.

The Vilas Zoo also hosts an annual “Halloween at the Zoo” event and offers a Summer Zoo School program which provides kids with instruction about animal behavior and habitats. Irvine Park Zoo in Chippewa Falls is a 318-acre facility established in 1906 that now houses bears, cougars, monkeys and buffalo.
