10 Powerful Strategies to Reduce Your Routine Stress

Apr 17, 2016

Everyone is talking about busy lifestyles, everyday stressors and relaxing and breathing techniques. But, how many of us dare to reduce a daily stress? The problem is, people have already learnt to live in tune with routine stress. We believe it is a norm and does not affect our well-being anyway.

When a little bit of stress is a norm, a lot of daily stress is a disaster. This is why today I am going to encourage you to collect your inner strength and reduce your routine stress for good.

1 Choose wisely

When it comes to tasks, activities and actions, you have to choose wisely in order to avoid excessive stress. You have to say no to the things that make you feel stressed and anxious. Focus on the activities that make you smile. When you do something you are truly passionate about, you let stress melt away instantly.

2 Focus on experiences

Striving to get more material things is the worst strategy ever. It causes tons of stress on a daily basis because it is impossible to have everything at once. Instead of worrying about money and material things, focus on experiences. Walking in the park or stargazing does not require money, but it is a fun experience that brings peace into your life.

3 Be open-minded

Open-minded people do not let stress interrupt their minds. They simply do not have room for worries and obsessive thoughts. They focus on new ideas, new challenges, and the good things around them. Be open-minded and keep filling your life with new things, not yesterday’s troubles.

4 Develop self-discipline

Mastering the art of self-discipline is an effective way to find peace of mind and eliminate stress from your daily routine. Procrastination is linked to stress, anxiety, and depression, which is why modern people are so prone to mental disorders. Try different self-discipline improvement methods to be a better version of yourself at home and in the office.

5 Embrace love

Love is not only about relationships. Never-stressed people love themselves, their nearest and dearest, animals, trees, sun, wind, job, exercise … they love everything. Get rid of hatred and let love find a place in your heart. Life is impossible without love.

6 Create positive rituals

The first thing I do in the morning is to hydrate myself. I have my warm lemon water and enjoy the fresh morning air at the same time. It seems like a little thing, but sometimes a tiny thing can change your whole day.

Take a minute to think about your lifestyle. How do you start and end your day? Why do you feel less motivated after lunch? Positive rituals may reduce not only your routine stress but also improve your quality of life.

7 Stay away from drama

Be it a relationship drama or an unexpected office drama, stay away from it. Let others know that you have no time for it. Lying, gossiping, and manipulation are needless stress. Spend your time with positive people and those you love.

8 Don’t take things personally

The world is full of negative people who will not fall asleep until they offend someone. No matter what they say, do not take it personally. If your boss angrily criticizes you, it does not mean he or she hates you. It just works, and it happens at times. Move on.

9 Take a nap

When all else fails, take a 20-minute nap. It is easier to think when your mind is clear and your body is relaxed. If you have to take a serious decision, do it in the morning. After all, morning is wiser than evening.

10 Be real

Many of us wear masks – whether we want it or not – however, learning to be yourself in any situation is a surefire way to get rid of routine stress for good. Let others see the real you, with all your imperfections and positive and weird traits.

Routine stress is slowly ruining our health, relationships, and happiness. Eliminate it from your daily life and see what happens next. You will feel more productive, energized, and motivated.
